October 17 Big Sleep Outs and Celebration
We invite you to join us
Peterborough, Kingsgate Church – Saturday 14th October – from 20.45
This year, the Peterborough Big Sleep Out will be preceded by a celebration service for the opening of our 50th house to which all are invited, whether you wish to take part in the Big Sleep Out or not. Click here for more info on the celebration.
The celebration service is open to all but for the Big Sleep Out all participants sign up and commit to raising £100 in sponsorship, using a Sponsorship Form and/or through Justgiving: you can click here to create your own fundraising page or go directly to the campaign page if you wish to sponsor someone who is taking part.
Norwich, Café Britannia – Friday 13th October from 19.30
Come join us at Café Britannia, Britannia Road, Norwich, NR1 4LU, for an evening of good food, acoustic music and personal stories from those who have been homeless in Norwich. Then for those who are willing and able, we will be sleeping rough on the heath and getting sponsored. After what may well be a chilly night, we will then return back into the café for a light breakfast.
Price per person £20 via Eventbrite (this includes the evening event and breakfast for those sleeping out). HIA Norwich are opening house number 8 soon and are in the process of buying house number 9, so your fundraising efforts are VERY much appreciated and needed. If you wish to use JustGiving to raise sponsors for the Norwich Big Sleep Out, please click here to create your page. Alternatively, you can also use our sponsorship form.
Wolverhampton, Tabernacle Baptist Church @ Broad Street – Friday 13th October from 19.00
The Wolverhampton Big Sleep In / Out is a joint event between Hope into Action Black Country and the Wolverhampton Church Shelter to raise funds and awareness around homelessness in the City of Wolverhampton. It is on Friday 13th October from 7pm to 7am the next day at Tabernacle Baptist Church @ Broad Street, Westbury St, Wolverhampton WV1 1JD. This is the venue where the shelter will be hosted from 1st November.
Registration is via Eventbrite and all participants sign up and commit to raising £100 in sponsorship, using our sponsorship form. All funds raised will be divided equally between Hope into Action and the shelter. If you wish to raise funds online, do feel free to use the event’s Give.net page.
There will be an evening of refreshments, entertainment and information on homelessness and what is being done to tackle these issues with the Wolves Community Trust and the Wolves mascot making an appearance. This will then be followed by a night of sleeping on cardboard boxes either in a marquis on the car park if you are feeling hardcore, in the church hall or on one of the camp beds in a manner similar to those who use the shelter.
