Church and Tenant Empowerment Worker

Location: Norwich

Hope into Action is a rapidly growing award-winning charity that enables churches to house the homeless and vulnerable.

We opened our first house 8 years ago and are now running more than 60 homes in numerous locations including Peterborough, Cambridge, Nottingham, Norwich, Lincoln, Wolverhampton, Reading, Isle of Wight and Woking.

Every home we open is in partnership with a local church and generally support two to three single tenants who were homeless or vulnerably housed, additionally we have homes for families and refugees. Our tenants have a range of support needs, so Hope into Action team members need to possess high levels of empathy, be adaptable and show willingness to learn from peers and pick up new skills quickly.

In Norwich we are currently working in partnership with 10 local Churches and have 10 homes open, with another in the pipeline. Due to expansion in the Norwich area we are looking for a Church and Tenant Empowerment Worker to become part of the team. We are looking for a person who is able to work 16 hours per week and have a passion for the vulnerable and the local church. There may be an opportunity for the hours to increase if additional houses are opened.

You would ideally have experience of working with vulnerable adults, have the ability to develop networks, liaise with churches and local agencies and work independently. Any offer of employment would be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Salary: £ 21,000 – £ 22,000 pro rata
